It's funny how everything turned out. I was searching and searching and searching for a review center. I planned to take both at the same time or at least within a time frame just to save time and money on reviewing since I needed to take them both anyways. I had to take them both because I am one of those international nurse graduate who needs to take some deficiency classes for a particular subjects in order for me to be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam. So I decided to apply to take NCLEX-LVN exam as well so I may work in California while trying to look for school in California. Since I am not eligible yet to apply NCLEX-RN here in California I decided to take it in another state. My goal is to passed them both so just incase, I may move to another state or reciprocate my license after I'm done with my classes. I know it's confusing. At least I won't have to review again for the exams after I finish taking the classes which is hard in my part . But remember, nothing is impossible.
I search and search and search for the right review center or online for me...as in everyday.. I read reviews online all the time, get some opinion from friends and online people who actually just took the exam and passed it, get some informations and ideas, and most especially encouragement. The same thing I had experience while taking my Local Nursing board in the Philippines. Online review for NCLEX both the RN and LVN. I couldn't express how much I research on both Kaplan, Hurst, and other companies. Kaplan and Hurst are on the top of my list. I considered some live review centers located here in Northern California but they cost more and I was thinking I wanted something that I could read the material over and over again. I need not only practice answering questions but also knowing and truly understanding the content. After searching for hours and days, I knew I had to stop searching and do the real review thingy. Okay, I knew I had to practice answering questions and have to actually understand the content. No way I could use my wild guess capabilities.. lol.. I am losing time and had to make the decision which would benefit me most.
In summary, I think Kaplan is the best for test taking strategies and hurst for content and test taking strategies. I got them both since I got Kaplan at a very very good deal and Hurst is just the right price. I might still get them both regardless of the price since they are both informative. Hurst kept me going and it really helped me answered so many questions I had and just enough information. I guess you still have to look into more deeper thru books and most conveniently online blogs and youtube videos to look more deeper into the subject. Kaplan made me prepared to answer questions as well and their content videos are helpful too. You have to be really specific in knowing what you have to do when you go into that room.
I will use both reviews too to prepare me to pass in the challenge exams that I needed for my deficiency classes too.
I heard this form a cousin- "Nothing is too much when it comes to your education"
I know budget is important too but us business people liked to call it investment. :)
Hope I helped you answer your questions! Please let me know if you have questions. Thank you! :)
